Thursday 16th September 2021

Good morning all, and I hope everyone is good.

It’s been a profitable period since I last updated the blog last week, with my betting accounts and bank account up to record levels. However, I know from past experience that I now need to be very careful, or the money will just be frittered away. Usually after a good win, I end up joining new betting advisory services (Not sure why, when I’ve been making money) or buying small shares in horses, which eventually I end up giving up when the money runs out. Another pattern of repeated behaviour after having a good winning run, has been increasing the size of my bets, or having more fun bets. Thankfully this week, so far, I’ve kept a lid on things, maintaining normal stakes, only following my existing tipsters, and I’ve not bought any horses (yet).

Last week was mainly based upon the Doncaster St Leger meeting, with Friday and Saturday being particularly hectic days. Friday was highlighted with a maximum win bet at 9/4 by Rick of Handicap Snip on Kettle Hill (11/8 SP), which was also tipped by Northern Monkey, a big win bet on My Little Tip picked by the Prophet, and a big each way punt on Rhythmic Intent at 8/1 from Keith Sobey (KSTIPS). It was just a really good day which was incredibly busy for a Friday. I could celebrate though, because unusually for a Friday I wasn’t drinking as I was driving to Yorkshire to visit my Mum’s early on Saturday morning.

Saturday wasn’t as busy as hectic Friday; the main focus of the day was the Stewards Cup. Northern Monkey had gone massive on Hurricane Ivor, ante post in singles and combined with another couple of winners in doubles. I’d visited my Mums on the Saturday morning, so on getting back home, it was with great excitement that I watched the recording of the early races. Well, it looked a bit of a struggle, but the money was won, as Hurricane Ivor battled to a tenacious win. Wow, what a win, and my money was won for the weekend.

Other notable wins last weekend, came from Elite Rugby, with a near faultless set of results in the NRL. Its always great to have a winning rugby bet before the racing starts. Special mention has also to be given to Roger Bush and West Country Racing, who has had some incredible recent results, with Dante View a winner at 10/1 being only one of many long odds winners.

Anyway, this weekend looks like being all about the Ayr Gold Cup and already my main man Northern Monkey is building up a position to hopefully pull of another big chop.

Until next week………..

Blog 2021

It must be years since I’ve last updated the blog, but these days I seem to have a bit more time and I thought I issue a rare update.

Firstly, I am still alive (Just about), still working as a contractor, and for the last 18 months, since just after Cheltenham 2020 I’ve been working from home. In fact, I’ve changes jobs twice whilst working remotely. We’ve also got a new retired greyhound called Lochy.

Betting wise, it’s been the usual rollercoaster, some massive days of winnings, generally when Northern Monkey pulls off a big chop, and some of the inevitable long losing periods, when everything that could go wrong will do.

Fortunately, I write this having just come off a stellar weekend of unbridled success. Northern Monkey went big on the Haydock Sprint Cup winner Emaraaty Anna at ante post 20/1, who was also selected by Handicap Snip at 12/1.  Other winners also came from The Prophet. Tyrells Racing, and Roger Bush. Roger Bush has been good form recently with 3 winners on the bounce.

Monday and today (Tuesday) its been poor racing, and to be honest, it’s a question of just making sure that I limit any losses to a minimum. Wednesday looks a little better, and then its great racing on Thursday and the weekend, with the St Ledger meeting at Doncaster.

Other than racing, I also have a fantastic Rugby League tipster, Elite Rugby, who provided consistent profits in both Super League and NRL this season, and I follow Scottish Football bets, who is having a decent run.

Anyway, hopefully I’ll provide more posts from now on and explain my punting methods and let you enjoy the highs and lows of a gambling life.
