31st October

Just a quick update.

We are having the bathroom done at the moment, and therefore updates have been difficult.

Hence I'll start my records from November 1st, which will coincide with the start of the TVB's season and the Breeders Cup weekend.

I'll be back hopefully early next week.

Update for the National Hunt

I said yesterday that I'd be reviewing my tipsters, and I've accelerated the process, as the National Hunt season is due to start shortly, and to incorporate my specialised HN tipsters into my betting I need to drop a couple of services.

My dedicated HN services are The Value Bettor, and also Matt Tombs. TVB kicks in at the start of November and Matt Tombs, most likely the middle of November for the first big Cheltenham meeting of the year.

Therefore I will be dropping, Handicap Snip and also The Insider immediately, and will review Ben Linfoot for the next few weekends. There also won't be any more of my own bets. Scottish Football Bets also needs to show some improvement in the next month.

Therefore from today onwards, my tipsters will be:

The Value Bettor;
Matt Tombs;
Northern Monkey;
Betting Emporium (Festival Service);
Ben Linfoot;
Elite Rugby;
Scottish Football Bets.

I can't imagine that there will be any other services, but you can never say never. I'll also be starting a new spread sheet of results from today onwards. The previous one showed profits, but I am really not sure how accurate it was, with me often putting additional bets on. From today onwards, its just the tipsters listed above.

Therefore for the weekend ahead its just likely to be Ben Linfoot and Northern Monkey with respect to horse racing bets.

Week ending 13th October 2019

Alas it was another disappointing losing weekend on the punting front, only saved like the previous weekend by my own personal bets on Saints -10 in the Super League Grand Final, and some good results from elite rugby.

On a poor horse racing weekend, all my services showed losses, even Northern Monkey. Like the week before the weekend really hinged on the big handicap, which was the marathon 2.2 mile trip of the Cesarewitch, NM had Coeur De Lion and Buildmeupbuttercup, who both ran poorly, and there were also very poor runs from the horses selected by The Insider, Handicap Snip, and Ben Linfoot.

As I touched upon last week, I am going to have to take a serious look as to whether I continue with some of the loss making services. Ben Linfoot and Handicap Snip have had dreadful seasons, and I am really considering if I should dump these from the portfolio. The Insider has also been poor since I joined, although its only a month into this service, so perhaps I should give this service another couple of months.

Scottish Football Bets has also been treading water recently and is now showing a loss for me. However, I am fairly confident that Greg will turn the results down as the season moves on.

Anyway, hopefully next weeks update will show a brighter picture.

October 4th Update

Sorry for the lack of updates, last week I was away in Porto for the week and have been dead busy this week catching up with works and things. Strangely in Porto, if I used my phone on data I could place bets, despite this apparently not being permitted. There weren't many bets, but the rugby world cup ones went well.

There has been a bit of a drawdown since my last post put nothing too dramatic, just a couple of minor losing weeks. Rugby as mentioned previously has been good, but horses not so good.

I am still using the same tipsters, but have added a new one called The Insider, he's 77 points up this season, so lets hope that he finished the season strongly. Already he's tipped up in the Arc, and has gone against Enable.

Some really exciting positions for this weekends racing already, Northern Monkey has had a strong bet and also had it in 2 doubles with the first ones winning, with a potential profit of 40 points if it comes off. Also I had some lumpy ante post bets on Sydney Roosters to win the NRL, with the final being on Sunday morning, and that's after I've watched my own team Featherstone Rovers which takes place on Saturday, so I dread to think what state I'll be in on Sunday. Its going to be a heavy weekend on all fronts.

There's also been an early tip by The Handicap Snip at Ascot, in the same race as NM's big hope, so a first and second would do the job.

Anyway, I promise to be back with an update early next week.
